Main project features:

The Climate and Disaster Resilient Small-Scale Water Resources Management Project (CDRSSWRMP) are structured to enhance flood and drought risk management, modernize irrigation networks, and improve drainage infrastructures across 42 districts in Bangladesh. Implemented by the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED).

Activities performed:
  • Conducted project site visits for Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), Preliminary Concept Reports (PCR), Feasibility Study Reports (FSR), and Detailed Design assignments for hydraulic structures and canal systems.
  • Prepared hydraulic design reports for various structures, including culverts, regulators, and canals.
  • Reviewed and verified reconnaissance and survey reports, including benchmark back-sight and fore-sight checks, and survey traverse closure verification.
  • Collected, processed, and analyzed hydraulic data, including drainage analysis and estimation of water levels via interpolation and extrapolation.
  • Collected secondary water-level data from LGED and performed 50-year return-period flood-level analysis using Gumbel, Normal, and Log-Pearson Type III methods.
  • Collected rainfall data from LGED and analyzed three-day drainage requirements for agricultural development and drainage system planning.
  • Reviewed topographic survey data from third-party surveyors and prepared land-use and topographic maps using AutoCAD.
  • Conducted field assessments and prepared Environmental, Social, and Agricultural Assessment Reports in coordination with respective specialists.
  • Contributed to economic and financial feasibility assessments by supporting the evaluation of the EIRR and FIRR.
